As a Principal Engineer in our Civil Transportation / Roadway Department based in Parsippany, NJ, you will play a key role in our multi‑discipline design team, contributing to New Jersey DOT and county transportation projects and working on initiatives such as the Transportation Assistance Program (TAP) and Safe Routes to School (SRTS). This role offers fast‑track career growth and the opportunity to develop technical and/or project‑management expertise.

• Lead technical design of roadway and highway projects, from conceptual design to final contract plans.
• Provide technical oversight and support to engineering staff, including Engineer/Junior Engineer level personnel.
• Collaborate with multi‑discipline design engineers and technicians to ensure project objectives are met.
• Conduct field visits to perform condition assessments, inventory critical design elements, and produce technical reports.
• Engage in project management tasks related to budgets, schedules, scope definition, and client communication.
• Participate in public outreach activities as required.
• Contribute to professional societies and continuous learning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
• Active NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of engineering experience with a focus on transportation and civil design.
• Experience delivering transportation and civil projects, including technical oversight to staff.
• Familiarity with TAP and SRTS projects through NJDOT local aid is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment and mentor junior staff.

Base salary: $110,000 - $130,000 per year.
