Director, Actuarial Pricing

Arch Re is seeking a Director of Actuarial Pricing to assist in pricing and underwriting a book of North American P&C reinsurance. The role covers lines including GL, Auto, Umbrella, WC, Property, and Professional Lines.

$210,000 - $260,000 per year

• Assess and analyze reinsurance treaties (quota share, excess of loss, aggregate, structured, multi‑year, and others) using actuarial techniques
• Structure terms and assure profitability of written business
• Contribute to LOB studies and assumption/parameter updates, developing ownership and expertise over specific lines written by ARC
• Develop and enhance pricing tools and models
• Perform underwriting audits of client files
• Report and present work, including trend studies, rate monitoring, and ad hoc requests from senior management
• Maintain frequent contact with underwriting, claims, and finance departments

• FCAS, ACAS or near completion level, or equivalent designation
• 8+ years of applicable actuarial experience
• Reinsurance experience is a strong plus but not required
• Proficient in MS Excel and able to create pricing tools to support day‑to‑day underwriting workflow; programming skills (e.g., Python, R, SQL) a plus
• Ability to organize and prioritize a demanding workload
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with senior‑level management
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed

• College or university degree, preferably with a quantitative major
