Job Summary This role leads the end to end accounting and financial close process within an insurance environment. The position is responsible for ensuring accurate statutory and GAAP reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting broader business initiatives through high quality financial information. The role combines hands-on technical accounting leadership with a focus on process improvement, systems optimization, and team development.

Skills & Experience
* Strong technical accounting background across US GAAP and US Statutory reporting within insurance
* Experience leading monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
* Proven ability to manage audits and interact with external auditors
* Demonstrated leadership and people management capability
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to partner with senior stakeholders
* Experience improving processes, documentation, and internal controls
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems preferred
* Exposure to automation, reporting, or data tools is a plus

Job Description
*** Oversee and review financial statements on both statutory and GAAP bases
* Lead the annual external audit process and ensure timely, accurate deliverables
* Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes, controls, and close timelines
* Review journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting policies
* Maintain and enhance general ledger systems and related documentation
* Partner with data, systems, and operations teams to improve accounting interfaces and workflows
* Develop and maintain process documentation, narratives, and flowcharts
* Oversee treasury and cash management activities
* Improve balance sheet reporting, expense frameworks, and cost center structures
* Review and enhance end to end claims, agency, and expense accounting processes
