Atlantic Health is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Morristown Medical Center. Required hours are 3:00PM - 11:00PM, including every other weekend. Starting rate $18.50/hr.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities- Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment to clean all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture, etc.
- Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
- Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
- Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
- Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
- Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio‑hazard materials.
- Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
- Reports any repairs to maintenance.
- Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher‑level staff.
- Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50
LBS.
- Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
- 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality or relevant area preferred.
- Minimum Salary (Hourly Rate): 18.50
- Maximum Salary (Hourly Rate): 27.58
