Job Description
Maintains the integrity of the Enterprise Master Patient Index. Analyzes work queues to identify medical records to be merged or corrected. Analyzes, assesses, and performs chart corrections and EMPI maintenance, ensuring one record per patient is preserved and that the integrity of each record is maintained. Works with close supervision and within established policies/practices and guidelines.
Principal Accountabilities- Bachelor or Associate degree in Health Information Management, Health Information Technology, or related field or Bachelor or Associate degree with two years of related experience.
- Skills, knowledge, and abilities gained through 0‑2 years of related experience required.
- Epic experience preferred
- RHIT/RHIA credential preferred
- Experience working in an acute care hospital or relevant area preferred
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
- Exceptional time management and the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Demonstrates initiative
- Familiar with medical terminology
