AVP, Product Development Attorney – Professional Liability

Arch Insurance Group Inc. seeks a mid-level attorney to join the Enterprise Product Development team within Corporate Underwriting Services (CUS).

• Review, draft and create insurance coverage forms for multiple business units, emphasizing professional liability products and other standard property & casualty lines.
• Communicate and collaborate with Underwriters, Managers, Claim Attorneys, Compliance and the Corporate Legal department to ensure products remain competitive while protecting profitability.
• Help business units identify and prioritize product development needs.
• Remain apprised of and monitor U.S. case law, regulations, legal trends and emerging issues affecting insurance coverage.

• JD from an accredited law school and a law license in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
• 2‑5 years of insurance contract drafting and industry experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Thorough understanding of insurance contract language and legal precedent.
• Prior experience with professional liability lines highly preferred.
• Ability to manage projects from concept to fruition with minimal oversight.
• Excellent time management, organizational and oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to assess the impact of legal decisions and court cases on insurance contract language.

Compensation

Base salary range: $150,000 – $180,000 per year, plus incentive eligibility. Total compensation will consider geographic location, scope and responsibilities, qualifications, and business needs.
