Job Description
Foundation for Morristown Medical Center is looking for an experienced Corporate & Foundation Relations Officer.
ReportingReports to: Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations
Positions reporting to this position: Shares Administrative Assistant with Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (DCFR).
ObjectiveTo gain grant support from area companies to support the philanthropic funding priorities of Morristown Medical Center.
Responsibilities- Work with the Foundation's Research Manager and Research Coordinator to identify corporate prospects and align their grant guidelines and philanthropic interests with the Medical Center's clinical programs, prevention health services, research initiatives and physician-driven projects.
- Meet with hospital staff and project directors to work on grant writing assignments, gathering information to develop a clear understanding of the project for which funding is sought.
- Manage a portfolio of corporate prospects to cultivate for solicitation and a specific group of current corporate donors for ongoing grant requests and stewardship.
- In consultation with the DCFR, review and write grant proposals or delegate responsibility to the proposal writer.
- Organize and host stewardship meetings with corporate donors to share the progress and impact of expending their grant or to explore new partnership opportunities.
- Work with the DCFR to develop an annual plan and participate in the periodic development of a long-range strategic plan.
- Work with the DCFR to establish annual performance benchmarks to measure and evaluate your performance.
- Record and track all activity in the Foundation's electronic database and report progress as required.
- Prepare progress and final reports and other corresponding materials to comply with grant requirements from corporate donors.
- Work with the Gift Processing staff to ensure that grant acknowledgement letters are mailed promptly.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3 years of experience in grantsmanship or related business writing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated successful experience as a development professional in the field of corporate and foundation relations or related experience.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Preferable experience with electronic fundraising databases and software.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Organizational skills to prioritize work assignments, prepare internal reports, and manage a database.
