Lead Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA), Clinical Education - Cardiothoracic Surgery Critical Care

Atlantic Health, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to lead Clinical Education for Cardiothoracic Surgery Critical Care at Morristown Medical Center.

This role requires advanced procedural expertise, including central line, arterial line, and chest tube placement, along with experience in point-of-care ultrasound and CSU-ALS certification. A minimum of five years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery critical care is required; prior leadership experience is preferred.

Morristown Medical Center is home to the largest cardiac surgery program in New Jersey and is nationally ranked among the top 50 hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report. The Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute serves as the hub of Atlantic Health Heart Care.

The Lead APP functions in a fully clinical capacity while serving as a clinical educator for a team of 22 Advanced Practice Professionals within the Cardiothoracic Surgery Critical Care Unit. Responsibilities include leading clinical education initiatives, training new team members, and supporting the continued growth of the open-heart program. This is a full-time position working 12-hour shifts, with scheduling based on departmental needs.

There is no call requirement; a weekend and night rotation are required.

• Master’s degree
• Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Minimum of 5 years of NP or PA experience in cardiothoracic critical care surgery is required
• Leadership experience is preferred
• Must have excellent communication and computer skills
• Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
