This job offers full-time nights, 12‑hour shifts.
Base pay ranges from $58.56/hr to $103.06/hr atlantic Health, one of New Jersey’s largest non‑profit healthcare networks, is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join our team of physicians, APPs, and residents at Morristown Medical Center. This position provides hands‑on opportunities for career growth in a collegial and multidisciplinary team environment.
- Job schedule is full‑time nights, twelve‑hour shifts.
- Provide or coordinate clinical care for medical and surgical step‑down patients.
- In collaboration with attending physician and interprofessional team, round daily on patients to assess, diagnose, plan treatment, set priorities and outcomes, and evaluate the effectiveness and cost efficiency of patient care.
- Assess patients for change in status and institute appropriate interventions. Initiate emergency interventions to stabilize the patient when appropriate.
- Analyze clinical practice patterns to provide the best medical care and increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Communicate verbally and in writing all pertinent patient information to provider team, nursing staff, and other relevant healthcare providers.
- Document in the patients’ chart all relevant data, including but not limited to results of diagnostic tests, laboratory results, patients’ condition and response to therapies/interventions, communications with provider team.
- Role model competence in all nurse practitioner/physician assistant advanced skills.
- Provide family‑centered care by communicating with the family regarding the changing health care needs of the patient.
- Support IRB‑approved clinical research/trials through a variety of activities.
- Perform and participate in quality performance improvement activities and clinical research.
- Serve as a clinical expert and leadership consultant to nursing and healthcare team members, and the larger community.

- Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
- NP or PA certification and NJ license required.
- DEA and CDS required.
- ACLS and BLS required.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of critical care or step‑down unit experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently.
