Job Description:
Responsible for assisting doctors/nursing staff in ensuring that the basic needs of each patient are met. Daily tasks might include feeding and cleaning the patient or monitoring vital signs and health.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing.
- Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights.
- Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities.
- Performs post mortem care.
- Performs EKG’s, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring.
- Observes and reports changes in patients’ condition to the RN.
- Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- BLS certification.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patient, compassionate nature.
- Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses.
- Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems.
- EMT certification and/or nursing assistant certification.
