Registered Nurse, Part Time Same Day Surgery, Hackettstown Medical Center

Job Description

Team member is responsible for working with patients, providers and other members of the healthcare team to prepare patients for various procedures.

• Utilizes comprehensive nursing assessment skills appropriate for proposed surgery, age and current health status.
• Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports in the EHR.
• Possess exceptional communication skills.
• Assess and reports pre procedure testing results and (post operative status to providers) communicates to providers in a timely fashion.
• Provides education to incoming patients regarding procedure readiness (and recovery) based on Standards of Care and best practice.
• Facilitates collaboration between proceduralist, anesthesia provider and other health care team members.
• Demonstrates ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve.

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• Current pre‑procedural RN experience > 1 year.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.
• Master's degree in nursing or related field.
