Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position with Epic EMR experience and weekday ten-hour shifts.
Responsibilities- Position is in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a hospital
- Care is provided for patients across the lifespan from pediatric to geriatric following surgery or procedures requiring anesthesia
- Work schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Epic EMR is used and familiarity is necessary
- May float to a nearby sister hospital as required
- Provide recovery care to surgical patients, including thorough assessments and individualized plans based on procedure and anesthesia type
- Demonstrate competent use of emergency equipment and adherence to National Patient Safety Goals
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation in accordance with facility guidelines
- Perform pre-operative and post-operative assessments and patient/family education
- Work collaboratively within the perioperative team and contribute to a patient- and family-centered environment
- Must comply with hospital policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality standards
- Holiday coverage is not required for this assignment
- Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- A minimum of 1 year of recent PACU or critical care experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- CCRN or CPAN certification is preferred
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Not open to candidates living within a 50-mile radius of the facility
