American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring a NJ or compact RN license and one year of OR experience.
Details- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- 12-hour AM shifts, 7a-8p, 3 days per week
- 36 hours per week on a 13-week assignment
- On-call responsibilities required
- Floating required, including to a sister hospital nearby
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
- Cares for surgical patients across the continuum of pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
- Active NJ or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CNOR certification preferred
- Minimum one year of OR experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, perioperative team functions, and Pre Admission Testing (PAT) processes
- Competency in documentation guidelines, National Patient Safety Goals, and Universal Protocol
- Skilled in safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments across pediatric to geriatric populations
- Provide direct patient care and support emergency equipment and procedures as needed
- Document patient progress and nursing care components accurately in the patient chart
- Deliver patient and family-centered care while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality
- Follow safety protocols including two-patient identifier verification
- Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments and education
- Support completion of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders and evaluate for appropriateness
- Local candidates accepted at a different rate
- Travelers may stay on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning
