• Documentation: Maintain complete and accurate documentation, ensuring the patient's progress and education are thoroughly recorded.
• Professionalism: Uphold professional practice responsibility, adhere to policies and procedures, and seek opportunities for growth.
• Patient Satisfaction: Engage with patients, families, and co-workers in a courteous and positive manner, maintaining confidentiality as per HIPAA guidelines.
• Safety: Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals, utilize safe transfer techniques, and apply proper body mechanics.
• Unit-Specific Functions: Individualize patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia types, ensuring patient understanding and comfort.
• Responsibility and Accountability: Prioritize patient care based on needs and condition changes, contributing to the perioperative team.
• Patient Education and Chart Completion: Involve patients and families in pre-operative and postoperative education and assessment.
• Duties Specific to PAT RN: Ensure timely completion of patient testing and evaluate Pre Admission Testing orders for appropriateness.

As defined by Occupation Safety/OMS.

• 1 year experience in Critical Care/Cardiac or ED
• BLS Certification

• PALS Certification
  - Required for pediatric ER only
