Position OverviewWe are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering team in Morristown, TN. In this role, you will design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and equipment while collaborating with cross‑functional teams including Sales, Manufacturing, and Project Management. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative mechanical solutions in a collaborative, high‑performing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Sales and Manufacturing to develop and refine product designs.
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using Solid Works or AutoCAD.
- Advise and support Mechanical Designers on component selection and design modifications.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and perform calculations for tanks, pressure piping, and related components.
- Interface with vendors to identify cost‑effective and high‑quality components.
- Participate in inspections during various production stages.
- Support quality control processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist Project Management as a subject‑matter expert for mechanical design inquiries.
- Develop and update internal engineering procedures and training documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with capital equipment.
- Proficient in Solid Works and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with ASME Pressure Vessel Codes, boilers, heat transfer, or auxiliary boiler room equipment is preferred.
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with PDM/PLM software preferred.
- Knowledge of Codeware Compress is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Occasional exposure to production floor conditions, including noise, heat, and cold.
