The Operations Supervisor plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily manufacturing operations at Greenworks’ Morristown facility. This position is responsible for managing production activities, ensuring workplace safety, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented leader who can balance operational efficiency with employee engagement. Working closely with plant management and corporate teams, this role drives performance excellence, resource utilization, and adherence to Greenworks’ commitment to innovation and product quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Lead and supervise daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, and output targets.
- Develop, implement, and monitor production schedules, goals, and KPIs to ensure on-time, efficient manufacturing performance.
- Recruit, train, and develop production team members; foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
- Review production data to identify trends, eliminate waste, and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve equipment or process issues and minimize downtime.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, and quality management systems.
- Evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and support career growth opportunities.
- Assist in planning and managing departmental budgets, labor, and material resources.
- Conduct regular equipment and facility inspections to ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate effectively with management, peers, and production teams to align goals, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, including at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or team leadership capacity.
- Proven ability to lead production teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Experience implementing or working within Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement frameworks.
- Strong operational discipline with a history of driving safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
- Industry experience in Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) or related mechanical/electrical manufacturing preferred.
- Demonstrated potential for career advancement into higher operational leadership roles.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Thorough understanding of plant operations, production planning, and equipment processes.
- Working knowledge of current safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
- High level of attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., allowing time for pre-shift planning before the 7:00 a.m. startup meeting and participation in an end-of-shift review. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support production demands.
