Position Summary

The Shift Leader is responsible for assisting the General Manager or Person In Charge (on duty) with management activities and duties. This role works with the Restaurant Management Team to ensure all activities are aligned with the restaurant’s business plan and that all Crew Persons and Team Leaders perform their responsibilities effectively.

Essential Functions

  • Consistently provides quality products and customer service to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Enhances the skills and performance of all Crew Persons.
  • Supports efforts to maximize sales and profits while minimizing controllable costs by assisting management and leading shift activities.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures regarding business and personnel practices.
  • Models and promotes company shared values.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external contacts through oral and written skills.
  • Participates in ongoing training to stay current with industry trends.
  • Attends company meetings, webinars, and conference calls.
  • Performs additional duties or projects as assigned to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Position Qualifications/Core Competencies

    • Approximately 2-3 years of experience and/or education demonstrating knowledge of restaurant management.
    • High School Diploma/GED required.
    • Excellent planning and time management skills.
    • Strong team building abilities.
    • Investigative and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to troubleshoot cash handling issues.
    • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance required.
    • Effective communication methods and availability to meet restaurant needs.
    • Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a focus on process improvements.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    Fast-paced environment involving kitchen equipment in confined spaces. Physical requirements include standing for long periods, bending, stooping, working around heat, lifting 50-75 lbs., and handling various cleaning products.
