Overview

Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville/Stowe VT, is searching for a qualified Surgical Technologist to perform a wide variety of duties, assisting the circulator and surgeon in the care of the surgical patient. Maintains a safe and sterile environment for the patient at all times under the direction of qualified operating room personnel. There is an on-call component to this position. Compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care.

This is a Full-Time position (PT available).

Responsibilities

Participates in “Time Out” before start of procedure.

Passes instruments, suture, sponges, etc.

Picks/prepares supplies for planned cases.

Prepares sterile field/supplies/instruments.

Participates in activities to keep abreast of technical and legal developments.

Sets up instruments/equipment in a standardized format.

Uses restraints and padding correctly.

Anticipates needs of surgeon.

Applies retraction, cuts sutures, etc. as requested.

Clears sterile field in an aseptic, safe manner. Ensures non-disposable instruments and supplies are not discarded.

Completes accurate sponge/needle/instrument counts.

Qualifications

HS diploma.

Successful completion of Surgical Technologist Program.
