Base pay range$28.00/hr - $35.00/hr
- Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment including steam, low-temperature, and high-level disinfection systems
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and integrity; assemble instrument trays accurately per count sheets
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols
- Document sterilization cycles, load records, and equipment logs accurately
- Transport sterile and non‑sterile supplies to and from surgical and clinical areas as needed
- Collaborate with operating room staff and clinical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments
- Follow AAMI, AORN, OSHA, and hospital policies and procedures
- Identify damaged or malfunctioning instruments and report for repair or replacement
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment within decontamination, prep & pack, and sterile storage areas
