Environmental Service Professional - Operating Room

Overview

Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville/Stowe VT, is seeking an Environmental Services Professional for the Operating Room. The role involves performing cleaning tasks to maintain sanitation standards, adhering to all relevant laws and hospital policies, and ensuring safety and infection control. The position also includes escorting personnel and assisting with the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors.

Compensation range: $/hour. The posted salary reflects base pay for candidates with limited experience; actual offers may vary based on experience, education, skills, and market factors.

• Clean and sanitize OR suites after blood, bone, and body fluid spills, following Infection Control Policies. Clean corridors, walls, ceilings, and used equipment appropriately. Polish equipment as needed.
• Consistently use proper PPE and wash hands thoroughly throughout shifts, following hospital policies.
• Follow standard precautions during all tasks.
• Clean assigned areas and equipment using specialized procedures learned during orientation, observing Isolation Techniques per Infection Control Policies.
• Handle chemicals and solutions according to departmental policies and SDS standards.
• Report equipment repairs or unsafe conditions to the charge nurse or manager.
• Stock supplies such as linens, paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap, and replenish as needed.
• Adapt routines based on OR usage, which may require multiple cleanings per shift.
• Assist or act as an Environmental Service Technician/Security personnel when required, as per the job description.

Education Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience Required:

• At least 3 years of Healthcare Environmental Services experience or MOAB/similar training

Experience Desired:

• 2-5 years in Healthcare Environmental Services
