The ARC position is a non-career, on-demand role that delivers and collects mail on a prescribed rural route, typically on Saturdays, Sundays and observed holidays. Onboarding includes required training on weekdays.

• Loads packages in delivery sequence in the vehicle.
• Delivers packages to customers along a prescribed route.
• Sorts mail in delivery sequence for the assigned route.
• Receives and signs for accountable mail.
• Loads mail and packages in the vehicle.
• Delivers mail and packages to customers along the route or as an auxiliary assistant by vehicle; collects monies and receipts for accountable mail; picks up mail from customer roadside boxes.
• Furnishes routine information concerning postal matters to customers.
• Returns mail collected, undeliverable mail, and submits monies and receipts to the post office.
• Prepares appropriate time records.
• Provides for mail security at all times.
• May be required to provide a vehicle for delivery if an employer-provided vehicle is not assigned. ARCs are non-career employees who provide customers along a rural route with delivery and collection services. If required to provide own vehicle, ARCs will receive an Equipment Maintenance Allowance (EMA).
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather with physical requirements including loading and unloading trays and containers of mail and parcels weighing up to 70 pounds.

• Valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record; at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger in the U.S. or its possessions or territories, or in U.S. military installations worldwide.
• Desirable candidates may be required to have a vehicle suitable for use and live within easy commuting distance of the facility location. If a vehicle is required, ARCs may receive an Equipment Maintenance Allowance (EMA).
• Work is performed in all weather conditions; ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

• Salary: $20.38 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
• Hours: Varies; scheduled for Saturday, Sunday and holidays observed by USPS on an as-needed basis; onboarding training on weekdays.
