Sterling Montessori Academy & Charter School is a vibrant, inclusive learning community serving students from preschool through 8th grade. Our Children’s House program (ages 3–6) is the foundation of this journey—and we’re looking for someone special to help support it during the after-school hours.
Aboutthe Role
Do you enjoy working with young children and helping them learn through play, movement, and meaningful connection? Are you patient, positive, and eager to support a nurturing environment?
We are seeking a Part-Time After Care Assistant to work with our Children’s House students (ages 3–6) from 3:00–6:00 PM each day. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in early childhood education or Montessori environments, and who is looking for part-time, consistent work during the school year.
What You ll Do- Supervise children in our Montessori after-care program with care, attention, and consistency
- Lead engaging, developmentally appropriate activities to promote social and emotional development
- Ensure a safe, calm, and respectful environment aligned with Montessori values
- Support student transitions and self-care routines
- Communicate positively with children, staff, and families as needed
- Assist with clean-up and end-of-day preparation for the next day
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with young children
- A calm, nurturing demeanor and a passion for early childhood education
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of background check
- Interest in or experience with the Montessori philosophy
- A supportive, welcoming team
- A peaceful and inspiring Montessori setting
- Hands-on experience in an authentic Montessori environment
- Opportunity to learn and grow in the field of education
