From their US facility in the Raleigh/Morrisville area and their European headquarters, they deliver one‑of‑a‑kind, precision systems worldwide.

They are seeking a Service Engineer who will be the “face of the company” in the field—installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and upgrading complex automation equipment at customer sites around the globe.

Role Overview

As a Service Engineer, you will handle everything from minor software updates to full machine upgrades on high‑tech custom equipment. You’ll be the expert customers rely on: solving problems on the spot, representing the company professionally, and keeping critical production lines running.

Every day will bring new challenges—different machines, different customers, and different issues—but what remains constant is your hands‑on technical work, your problem‑solving mindset, and your commitment to quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field service assignments at customer sites across North America and internationally.
  • Install, start up, and commission custom automation equipment at customer locations.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as mechanical/electrical modifications on installed machines.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, electronic, and controls issues using appropriate diagnostic tools.
  • Gain in-depth product knowledge with hands‑on training on the shop floor at the Morrisville, NC facility.
  • Participate in training on new systems at both US and Netherlands locations.
  • Provide feedback from the field to engineering, assembly, and service teams to improve machine performance and serviceability.
  • Support assembly and service teams when working in‑house (building, testing, and validating equipment prior to shipment).
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, both onsite and remotely, to set expectations and explain findings and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in a technical service, field service, or maintenance role working with industrial machinery or automation equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge in at least two of the following:

    • Electrical systems (wiring, panels, power distribution)
    • Electronic/controls systems (PLCs, sensors, HMIs, servo systems)
  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, test software, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of industrial safety standards and safe work practices.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical skills with a “figure it out” mindset.
  • Customer‑focused attitude with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70%, often with short notice (within two days).
  • Valid passport with at least 6 months remaining validity.
