Pharmacist (Contract)
On-site work in Tyler, Texas with a Fortune 100 organization, 3‑month contract (extension or conversion to FTE possible). Rate: $70 per hour. Start: ASAP.
Responsibilities- Execute day‑to‑day pharmacy operations, workflow, production quotas, and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations and DEA policies; enforce third‑party payer contract rules.
- Supervise pharmacy production staff for order entry, workflow, security, and delivery schedules.
- Check labels and orders for completeness and accuracy; verify drug packaging and labeling.
- Prepare or supervise sterile IV drug products or solutions.
- Safely order, handle, receive, document, and store controlled substances; maintain inventory for schedule II drugs.
- Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage on scheduled on‑call rotation and as required by management.
- Clear workflow dashboard daily.
- Follow HIPAA and all applicable safety, attendance, and dress‑code policies.
- Adhere to overtime, holiday and weekend requirements as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Demands- May sit or stand 7 to 10 hours per day.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, walking, crawling intermittently.
- May work extended hours as needed.
- May lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
This position operates in a long‑term care facility and may involve use of standard office and pharmacy equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, rolling carts, fax machines, etc. A large portion of work will be performed in a setting where noise may be loud.

Education and Experience- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Current license to practice pharmacy in good standing.
- Proficiency in clinical interpretation of drug‑drug, drug‑disease, drug‑food interactions and allergies.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and well‑developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Accurate and efficient dispensing of prescription medications.
- Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Staff Pharmacists work four 10‑hour days each week.
- Shift times: 6:30 am‑8:30 pm Monday‑Friday, 7 am‑5:30 pm Saturday and Sunday, 6 am‑3:30 pm on holidays.
- Staff Pharmacists rotate every 2nd or every 3rd weekend depending on staffing.
