Telecom Specialist
Computer World Services Corp (CWS) is seeking an experienced Telecom Specialist to manage and support telecommunications and network systems, specializing in Cisco hardware and services. This role also involves Dell hardware repair, WAN/LAN infrastructure management, and network performance monitoring.
The ideal candidate will have experience in hardware engineering, troubleshooting, and providing production support to maintain a reliable and efficient network environment.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities- Network Engineering and Support
- Support the installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of WANs and LANs.
- Assist in designing and managing WAN infrastructure and related processes.
- Perform day‑to‑day operations and provide second‑level problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for network issues.
- Support the dispatch and coordination of circuit and hardware vendors for problem resolution.
- Escalate and communicate network status updates to management and internal customers.
- Hardware Engineering and Repairs
- Perform Dell hardware repairs and support related systems and devices.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair network hardware to ensure smooth operations.
- Infrastructure and Cabling
- Provide support for cabling and infrastructure setup, maintenance, and optimization.
- Ensure adherence to infrastructure standards and best practices.
- Network Performance Monitoring
- Monitor and optimize network performance using tools such as Solar Winds.
- Ensure efficient and secure operation of network systems and related devices.
- Documentation and Technical Support
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, hardware setups, and processes.
- Provide technical consultation to internal teams and assist with training when needed.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Engineering, or a related field. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement. - Experience:
Minimum 5‑7 years of experience in network installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Hands‑on experience with WAN and LAN infrastructure design and management. Proven track record in Dell hardware repairs and support. - Technical
Skills:
Proficient in Cisco hardware and services; strong understanding of communication protocols, network architectures, and software systems; experience with network performance monitoring tools like Solar Winds; knowledge of cabling and infrastructure support best practices.
- CCNA, CCNP preferred
- ITIL certification v4 preferred
- Applicants must be eligible to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Potential hybrid work available for this position
