• Collaborate with other writers and stakeholders (engineers, product managers, and support team members) to develop task-focused content for Net App products and services.
• Experiment with pre-release versions of products to understand functionality and anticipate users’ information needs.
• Research, scope, and develop plans to meet content requirements for product features and releases.
• Partner with usability and engineering teams to champion user interface simplicity, clarity, and consistency.
• Develop and nurture relationships with subject matter experts in cross-functional areas.
• Interpret metrics, feedback, and other data to continuously improve customer experience.
• Partner with your peers in Information Engineering to improve processes, systems, and tools.
• Represent Information Engineering in cross-functional strategic initiatives.
• Exercise continuous improvement by auditing content and making plans to address problems.
• Ensure that documentation is culturally relevant to a diverse global market with a wide variety of audiences.
• Independently research technology concepts, product plans, and technical specifications.
• Interact with individual contributors and managers across Net App.

• Minimum of 5 years of technical writing experience or commensurate hands‑on technical experience with storage, networking, security or related fields
• Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field

• Lightweight markup languages like Ascii Doc or Markdown
• Git Hub or other source control systems
• Familiarity with JIRA or other bug tracking tools
• Relevant technical experience (cloud or on‑premises system administration, storage or networking technology, programming experience)
• Successful completion of moderately complex technical documentation projects
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with other writers and cross‑functional peers to meet deadlines.
• Ability to provide writing samples and speak to how they impacted the user experience
