Aircraft Mechanic III – Quality Control (AH‑64)

General Description
  • Perform Field and Sustainment Level maintenance support/augmentation, including production control, quality control, supply management, maintenance and repair of aircraft, and launch and recovery operations before and after flight activities.
  • Work in specialized shops associated with fixed base operations, perform field‑level maintenance, and conduct troubleshooting and repair on the flight line in Hopkins, SC.
Duties
  • Implement quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Inspect and verify correct documentation of safety‑of‑flight discrepancies.
  • Brief and debrief pilots and crew performing functional check flights.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of work centers, maintenance actions, procedures, equipment, and facilities.
  • Examine parts and components for conformance to design specifications, determining serviceability and disposition; affix appropriate forms/tags.
  • Review maintenance source documents, aircraft inspection records, and recurring discrepancies or trends, initiating appropriate actions.
  • Monitor timeliness and applicability of aircraft maintenance technical data and libraries; manage the technical improvement program and review engineering investigative requests.
  • Initiate and review quality deficiency reports, technical deficiency reports, and hazardous material reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Document and review aircraft weight and balance data, ensuring accuracy and providing oversight during weighing procedures.
  • Support the Quality Assurance/Environmental, Safety and Health Program under the AS9110 Quality and Safety management plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years verifiable AH‑64 Technical Inspector experience.
  • 10 years verifiable AH‑64 experience.
  • Graduate of Basic Non‑Commissioned Officer Course and/or Advanced Leaders Course.
  • A valid A&P license is desired.
  • Completion of an AH‑64 (15R) course graduate or other service equivalence.
  • US Citizen.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Physical Requirements
  • Walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for periods throughout the day.
  • Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
  • Crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees, and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • See aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • See imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Distinguish color and judge three‑dimensional depth.
  • Operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, APU, etc.
