Senior Software Engineer V, Solutions Architect

We are looking for a solutions architect for the Marketplace team who possess outstanding problem‑solving and technical design abilities. The position will be responsible for collaborating and communicating across business units, designing and modifying technical solutions to company problems, and ensuring systems continue to operate efficiently and effectively. The role will be regularly interacting with the Marketplace team to design and build solutions as well as with internal and external stakeholders to guarantee solutions match expectations.

In addition the role will need to function as a subject matter expert for the Marketplace product as a whole.

• Collaborate across teams to find solutions for complex business scenarios and integration issues
• Describe the structure, characteristics, behavior, and other aspects of software to teams and stakeholders
• Assist with defining features, setting timelines, and planning work on features
• Design both internal and customer‑facing API interfaces in consultation with senior engineers
• Act as technical consultant and subject matter expert for Marketplace products to internal teams and 3rd party integrators
• Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies relevant to Shift4 and apply them where necessary
• Monitor and analyze production systems to ensure smooth operation

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions architect, or similar role
• Ability to communicate high‑level technical information with non‑technical audiences and high‑level business requirements with technical audiences
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, rapidly evolving environment

• BS / BA in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge of and experience with relevant technologies used by team (Node.js, Postgre
  
  SQL, Rabbit
  
  MQ, React)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS technologies
• Experience with Payments or POS development
