Java Technical Lead

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Java Technical Lead to drive the design and development of scalable applications using Spring Boot and Microservices
. You will lead technical initiatives, mentor developers, and ensure high-quality software delivery through best practices in RESTful API design, PL/SQL, and system optimization. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for innovation.

• Design and Development:
  Lead the design and development of complex Java applications contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle. This includes ensuring applications are high-performing and scalable.
• System Architecture:
  Gather requirements design application architecture and propose changes to existing infrastructure. An innovative approach to system implementation is expected.
• Technical Proficiency:
  Write clean efficient code enhance system performance and conduct code reviews. Debugging complex issues is also a key responsibility.
• Collaboration and Mentorship:
  Work with cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers.
• Other Duties:
  Stay updated on Java trends create technical documentation and implement security measures.
• Experience:
  
  At least 8 years of Java development experience is necessary.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  A deep understanding of Java and its ecosystem including OOP principles and design patterns is required. Experience with Java web frameworks like Spring MVC and knowledge of concurrency patterns are also important.
• Tools and Technologies:
  Proficiency with Agile methodologies version control systems and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines are typically required. Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is also often expected.
• Soft Skills:
  
  Strong problem-solving communication and teamwork abilities are essential.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Morrisville, NC.

• Java Spring Boot Azure
• Knowledge of Java build tools

The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 - $85,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
