Job Title: Commercial Construction Laborer
Reports to: Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent

The Construction Laborer is essential to any commercial construction project. This person must be hardworking, energetic, punctual, and able to follow instructions when given a task.

• Perform various physical duties as assigned
• Maintain all safety standards
• Jobsite cleanup
• Perform demolition (walls & ceiling/flooring/minor concrete demo/roofing, etc.)
• Hand excavation when needed
• Assist carpenters when needed
• Move, secure, install, build, load, or unload materials
• Perform some specialized tasks that may require on-the-job training
• Effectively use heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment
• Move items from place to place, according to direction from the site supervisor
• Move tools, equipment, or other material as directed in plans or by a supervisor

• Dependant transportation
• Pass background check and drug testing
• Attendance and punctuality – must be at work every day and on time
• Personal appearance, proper hygiene, and appropriate work attire required
• Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
• Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety
• Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co‑workers
• Some traveling may be required – JLJ will pay for any/all job‑related travel expenses
