Maintenance Mechanic

• Operate CMMS system and demonstrate 100% functionality to complete work orders and log corrective maintenance issues.
• Communicate effectively with production personnel and other mechanics to identify problematic areas; collect and analyze information to provide and receive feedback and support.
• Perform electrical repairs and troubleshooting including PLC controls, AC & DC motor controls, solid state motor controls, advanced circuits and grounding; interpret diagrams and test equipment.
• Read and understand schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs; identify and repair issues and provide innovative solutions to recurrent problems.
• Maintain a general working knowledge of facility equipment including wastewater equipment, compressed air, refrigeration and building safety equipment.
• Understand the company objectives including productivity, yields, food safety, quality, customer service and cost goals; daily work activities should support achieving those goals.
• Demonstrate computer and math skills as part of daily activities (fractions, decimals, percentages, metric system); comfortable with the metric system, ratios and formulas.
• Perform daily inspections, emergency repairs, routine adjustments and follow the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Maintain organized documentation and inspection records.
• Model professional workplace conduct and adhere to company policies (Code of Conduct, attendance, punctuality, productive work habits, personal hygiene).
• Serve as a resource to other departments to resolve mechanical issues and maintain production efficiencies.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

• Work effectively in a team setting.
• Basic ability to cross-train other mechanics as well as production personnel.
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs:
  Outlook, Word, Excel (ability to enter data into the system).
• Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to track orders, PMs and inventory.
• Achieve a passing score on the Ramsay exam.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

• Ability to use a multimeter and other measurement instruments.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC controls (e.g., Allen-Bradley, GE Fanuc).
• Ability to work with computer programs such as Word and Excel.
• Proficient fabrication and welding systems and welding skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish or other regional language.

• 2-5 years of experience with industrial equipment, or 2 years of technical training, preferably in a food processing facility. Familiar with preventive or reliability-based maintenance. Experience with high-speed processing, packaging, weighing, filling and inspection equipment.

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to support the Maintenance Skills Summary.
