Under general supervision, performs precision tune-ups and maintenance on HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customers to answer questions, resolves problems, and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customers. Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Performs maintenance calls and routine precision tune-ups and maintenance on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories.
- Inspects and performs limited diagnostics to prevent premature breakdowns or callbacks.
- Completes routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed.
- Delivers and removes parts and equipment required to complete service work.
- Assists the Service Technician in servicing equipment and accessories.
- Uses hand‑held device to record all required information on customer call; completes all forms and paperwork neatly and accurately; collects payment from customers if necessary.
- Communicates with dispatcher to ensure accurate status reports.
- Provides excellent customer service and sustains high customer satisfaction.
- Promotes products and services; calls Sales and Service Coordinator with replacement product leads.
- Ensures company property, vehicles, tools are properly accounted for and maintained.
- Represents the company professionally and ethically.
- Follows standard procedures and processes; ensures the vehicle is properly stocked.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Reports unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to supervisor immediately.
- Reports any contravention of legislation or company policy.
- Corrects substandard acts or conditions within area of control.
- Uses and maintains appropriate PPE as prescribed.
- Never removes or renders ineffective safety guards or devices.
- Complies with general rules as prescribed by company programs.
- Operates devices or equipment as prescribed.
- Participates in safety initiatives, teams, or committees.
- Reports all injuries or incidents immediately.
- Provides input on developing safety initiatives and plans.
- Does not perform acts that endanger safety or well‑being of others.
- Does not engage in pranks, contests, or rough boisterous behavior.
- Works in compliance with applicable legislative requirements.
- High school diploma or GED with additional training and 0 to 1 years’ experience in HVAC; technical training certification preferred.
