Job DescriptionAs a Transportation Analyst
, you will analyze and develop transportation plans to control the movement of commodities throughout a manufacturing or distribution network to ensure the smooth running of operations at optimal transportation cost levels.
- This role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation or sponsorship.
- This role is 1st Shift: Monday through Friday.
- This role is 100% on-site with no opportunities for hybrid or remote schedules.
- This role requires up to 10% domestic travel.
- Track and report on activities, costs and expenditures for all transportation modes.
- Verify documents and checklists are accurate and complete.
- Notify departments of shipping or receiving schedules and any logistics problems.
- Maintain records of all shipments and invoices using an established system.
- Effective Communications:
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. - Planning and Organizing:
Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way. - Accountability:
Understanding the importance of taking personal responsibility; ability to take personal responsibility for assignments, decisions and results, and focus on activities that have the greatest impact on meeting work commitments.
- Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies, practices and tools for controlling the whole processes.
- Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
- Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Supply Chain/Logistics Degree or Equivalent Experience.
