Manager, Operations – Caterpillar Inc. – Morton, IL

Join Caterpillar’s global team and shape the world by ensuring efficient, high‑quality operations for our Aftermarket Parts Distribution Center.

As the Manager, Operations, you will provide leadership and strategy for a team of 5 direct reports and a broader group of 60 production associates.

• Support inventory management compliance processes and annual audit activities.
• Communicate inventory record performance and improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate storage location availability and reduce grief through partnership with Facilities Health.
• Align resources and project needs to support storage system configuration projects.
• Partner with non‑operational teams on site photography projects.
• Drive claims reduction and achievement of KPI’s through data analysis, training, and corrective actions.
• Leverage process excellence to investigate errors, define and improve standard work, and embed lean & BIQ tools.
• Oversee quality operations, align performance to global targets, and improve process flow.
• Plan and conduct monthly business continuity tabletop drills and annual impact qualifications.
• Own internal audit assurance service tasks and act on their findings.
• Approve EWM systematic access requests for Morton operations.
• Develop and share monthly financial reporting packages and analyses.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and spend reviews.
• Complete monthly production quality data inputs for accurate reporting.
• Plan, compile, and update annual business plans for Morton and Morton region cost centers.
• Collaborate quarterly with business resources on required updates.
• Submit formal corrective action plans for non‑performing quality and financial metrics.
• Manage and submit reporting for the purchasing card.
• Ensure compliance with Industrial Tracker and CTPAT audits.

• Advanced analytical thinking and root‑cause analysis skills.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey ideas and information.
• Proficiency in performance management techniques and tools.
• Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and practices.

• Experience in logistics processes or distribution.
• Experience with SAP EWM.
• Experience auditing compliance processes.
