Position
:
Flex Security Officers at a client site in Morton, IL to work as needed/on-call. Pay: $17.50/hr, paid weekly.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a customer service role.
• Security, military, and/or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Valid PERC Card preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to drive and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Read and understand written instruction and communicate information and ideas in clear and concise written form.
• Mentally analyze a situation, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure in the area of responsibility.
• Exceptional Report Writing Skills.
• Must be available to work weekends, weekdays, holidays, mornings, nights, and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer must read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.

The Flex Officer position provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call‑offs, weather, vacation, or other causes, enabling Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.

Scheduling parameters and expectations for a Flex Officer differ from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post:

• You will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
• Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
• You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
• Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
• You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance that falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability, communicate this with your supervisor so they can avoid scheduling you.
• For short‑notice call‑ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. Refusal of more than 20% of scheduled shifts may negatively impact employment status.

Education Requirements (All)
High School diploma or equivalent.

Certification Requirements (All)
PERC Card.
