Part‑Time Cook - Senior Living

Join our vibrant team at Paradise Creek - Fairview Estates in Moscow, Idaho, where we are dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming environment for our senior residents. We are seeking a compassionate and reliable cook to support our team and ensure our residents enjoy nutritious and delicious meals. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents’ preferences
  • Assist with meal planning and ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are maintained
  • Support the lead cook and provide relief coverage as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas
  • Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs and requests
  • Ensure timely delivery of meals to residents and assist with meal service and clean‑up
  • Hours are between 14‑20 per week, with opportunities for more!
Skills and

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in food preparation or cooking, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Compassionate attitude and respect for seniors and their needs

Requirements Qualifications

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licenses/Certification:
  • Serv Safe Food Safety Certification required.
  • Food Handlers permit if required per state regulations.
Experience:
  • Six months’ experience in large quantity food preparation. Experience with therapeutic diet preparation preferred.
  • Six months experience in a long term care or senior living environment preferred.

NOTE:

Federal Child Labor Laws do not permit employees younger than 18 years of age to work with or repair, adjust, or clean power‑driven machines such as meat slicers and commercial mixers. Therefore, individuals must be at least 18 years of age to be employed in this position.
