Data Analyst, Business Systems/ Tech Analyst, Data Science Manager
As a Senior Product Analyst, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the product analytics function at Lightcast from the ground up. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Product Managers and Product Marketing Managers to answer critical business questions using customer and product data. You’ll drive a deep understanding of user behavior, surface actionable insights, and help shape the direction of our product experience, lifecycle strategies, and go-to-market plans.
You will collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to develop a strong foundation for product data strategy, establishing scalable analytics practices and fostering a culture of experimentation, insight sharing, and data-driven decision-making.
Major Responsibilities- Drive Insightful Decision-Making:
Work cross-functionally with Product and Product Marketing teams to define KPIs, conduct deep-dive analyses, and generate insights that guide product strategy, customer retention efforts, and lifecycle marketing. - Establish a High-Impact Analytics Function:
Collaborate closely with product managers, engineering, and business teams to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for our suite of software and API products and implement systems to monitor them. Partner closely with data engineers and scientists to deliver high-quality analysis, dashboards, models, and reporting solutions. - Unify Customer Understanding:
Create a single, cohesive view of the customer journey by integrating behavioral, product usage, and demographic data across the business. - Create Scalable Systems:
Build and maintain scalable dashboards, reports, and data pipelines that enable self-service analytics and real-time insights. - Partner & Influence:
Act as the analytics voice on cross-functional leadership teams; educate stakeholders, communicate results effectively, and influence product and marketing strategies. - Ensure Data Quality & Governance:
Define and implement data standards, validation processes, and QA practices to ensure trust in data across the organization. - Communicate insights and findings clearly and regularly to a diverse set of stakeholders through reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- 4+ years in product analytics
- Bachelor’s in Analytics, Statistics, CS, Engineering, or related field;
Master’s/MBA preferred
- Data storytelling:
Translating complex data into actionable insights - Statistical modeling:
Regression, clustering, classification, A/B testing (nice to have) - Customer segmentation:
Behavioral data analysis and journey optimization (nice to have) - Experimentation:
Designing, executing, and interpreting tests (nice to have)
- SQL:
Strong proficiency with large datasets - BI tools:
Tableau, Power BI, or similar - Analytics platforms:
Pendo, Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc. - Scripting:
Python or R (nice to have)
- Product sense:
Diagnosing product issues through data - KPI development:
Defining and analyzing key metrics - Cross-functional collaboration:
Working with PMs, engineers, marketers, and execs - Customer focus:
Using user behavior to guide decisions
- Stakeholder management:
Advising and influencing key decision-makers - Communication:
Presenting insights to technical and non-technical audiences
