Responsibilities:

  • Deliver basic nursing care within your scope of practice under the direction of the Staff RN or LPN in the assigned unit.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Provide for the basic comfort and care needs of patients.
  • Adhere to guidelines and rules set by the Idaho State Board of Nursing, American Nurses' Association, and The Joint Commission.
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the care team.
  • Function as an integral member of the patient care team.
  • Report patient outcomes and findings to the appropriate staff.

Job Requirements:

  • Required

    Education:

    Completion of a nursing assistant course.
  • Required

    Licenses/Certifications:

    • Idaho Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Functional Demands:

  • Populations Served: Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric. All genders, races, ethnic groups, developmental and physical abilities, and more.
  • Physical Demands: Lifting, transferring, pushing/pulling, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, and climbing are required, with specific weight limits and frequency detailed in the full job description. Must possess good manual and finger dexterity, along with the ability to differentiate colors, depth perception, and focus. Hearing, speech, and sense of touch are essential.
  • Environmental Conditions: Exposure to blood borne diseases and various patient-related situations. The role may involve irregular hours/shifts, emergencies, and crisis situations.
