Repair and Tool Technicians evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. They make equipment recommendations and ensure that units are maintained. Technicians work in stores with Tool Rental Centers and in repair centers. In a store, they provide service to store customers in Tool Rental, which includes writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, checking that tools are operating properly, and demonstrating proper use as needed.
They support day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. In non-store locations, technicians ensure units are repaired, tested for quality, and cleaned prior to returning to the originating store. Technicians must have thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
