Para educator Life Skills – Longview Elementary, Moses Lake School District
This role coordinates activities and provides specialized support to assist in instruction and supervision of students with behavioral challenges in both Special Education and General Education settings.
Salary & Benefits6.50 hours per day, 180 days per year.

Qualifications- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 72 college quarter credits from a nationally accredited institution.
- ETS test required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
- Positive rapport with students, parents, and staff.
- Work effectively with small groups or individual students under supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Accurate record‑keeping.
- Willingness to assist students with basic personal care (toileting, diapering, feeding, lifting, etc.).
- Meet performance expectations per MLSD #161 Classified Employee Performance Evaluation.
- Be punctual and notify supervisors of absences in advance.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance.
- Follow duty schedule and prescribed behavior plans.
- Apply appropriate discipline using district procedures.
- Work independently, solving problems with minimal supervision.
- Communicate IEP learning objectives to special needs students.
- Build positive relationships with special needs students and peer interactions.
- Receive non‑violent crisis intervention and restraint training.
- Intervene and control students using approved methods.
- Undergo training to understand specific disabilities.
- Supervise special needs students in the classroom, arrival, and departure.
- Monitor activities for safety and rule compliance.
- Provide emergency first aid as required.
- Possess current First Aid card.
- Assist medically fragile children as needed.
- Maintain excellent attendance and district‑assigned email communication.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
