Shift/Hours/Location

M-F, 8am-5pm, Onsite, Moses Lake, WA

What You Will Be Working On
  • Monitor changes in local, state, and federal EHSS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).
  • Ensure organizational compliance through documentation, inspections, and internal audits.
  • Develop and update safety policies, procedures, and standard operating practices (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate safety into operational workflows.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements.
  • Lead and coordinate comprehensive safety audits across multiple departments or facilities.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments for new processes, equipment, and chemical usage.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans based on audit findings and risk evaluations.
  • Serve as lead investigator for moderate to complex incidents, near misses, and safety violations.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis sessions using methodologies such as 5 Whys or Fishbone Diagrams.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (Inquiries).
  • Design and deliver targeted safety training programs (e.g., hazard communication, lockout/tagout, chemical handling).
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and maintain training records.
  • Mentor and coach Safety Affairs Specialist 1 and other junior staff.
  • Analyze safety data trends to identify areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain EHSS dashboards and performance indicators.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management and safety committees.
  • Uphold all MLI policies and the “MLI Code of Conduct.”
  • Adhere to Environmental and Safety compliance regulations.
  • Follow Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration.
  • It is the employee’s commitment to ensure that the Company’s actual practices and procedures are exercised as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support EHSS and MLI as a whole.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Advanced coursework or certifications in safety, environmental compliance, or industrial hygiene are a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in EHSS, preferably in a chemical, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
  • Proficient in arithmetic and grammar.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines.
  • Work as a team and/or independently.
  • Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EMS software experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.
  • High level of initiative and accountability.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
Salary & Benefits

Summary pay range: $70K-$90K
