Position SummaryProvides primary and appropriate specialized health care services to hospital and clinic patients. Performs examinations and provides treatment to minor/routine problems; performs or orders diagnostic test; establishes diagnosis; prescribes medication; instructs patients and family members about continuing care.
Position Reports ToPractice manager
Essential Functions- Provide primary and specialized health care to patients. Examination, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and acute episodic illnesses and minor injuries. Refers to physician as needed.
- Writes prescriptions and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
- Educates patients and families and helps them understand issues related to physical and emotional health.
- Participates in health promotional activities.
- Participates in decisions, planning, and policies related to clinical care.
- Maintains accurate and complete patient records in compliance with organizational policy.
- Refers patients to specialty services when appropriate.
- Provides professional medical services within the scope of training and responsibility, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and organizational policies.
- Support physicians with on-call responsibilities as required.
- Records statistics and conducts research as deemed necessary.
- Collaborates with staff and physicians to identify patient’s needs and help develop plan to meet those needs.
- Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
- Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is an essential requirement of working at Confluence Health. Religious and medical exemptions will be considered upon request.
- Active Physician Assistant licensure with prescriptive authority in the state of Washington, required by start date.
