Substitute - Bus Driver
Job Title:
Substitute - Bus Driver
Location:
Moses Lake, WA
Salary: $36,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year (depending on experience)
Responsibilities- Operate school bus safely and responsibly within the district boundaries.
- Ensure timely arrival and departure of students.
- Follow all district policies and state regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports for each shift.
- Perform regular safety inspections of the bus before each route.
- Assist students with boarding and disembarking, including providing extra assistance if needed.
- Report any incidents or violations to district supervisors.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid Washington State driver's license of at least five years.
- Commercial driver's license (Class A or B with passenger endorsement, school bus endorsement, and no airbrake restriction).
- Current Washington State School Bus Driver's Authorization from OSPI.
- Meets all physical and character standards in WAC 392-144, including no more than two speeding tickets in last 5 years.
- Valid First Aid Card.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Pass all drug & alcohol tests as required by D.O.T. and MLSD policy.
- Pass and continue to pass a CDL physical.
- Other duties as assigned.
- At least five years of experience as a licensed passenger vehicle driver.
- Criminal record check shows no disqualifying offenses per RCW 400.
- Complete a school bus driver training course administered by an authorized instructor.
- Meet continuing requirements per WAC .
- Valid driver’s license or CDL.
- Complete annual school bus driver in-service training.
- Maintain current first-aid training accepted by district.
- Annual disclosure of crimes against children, civil adjudications, and discipline related to abuse.
- Physically able to maneuver and control a bus; perform safety inspections; demonstrate strength and agility to evacuate passengers within 25 seconds.
- Provide current medical examiner’s certificate to employer.
