Principal
Supervises:Students, Volunteers
Job Goal:To provide instructional leadership in teaching students to achieve, at a high level, the goals of the chosen course of study that will contribute to the development of the total child.
Performance Responsibilities:- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students and aligns with district and state standards.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
- Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and activities, and communicate these to students.
- Employ instructional methods and materials that positively affect student achievement.
- Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required.
- Assess students' learning abilities regularly, seeking assistance from district specialists as needed.
- Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
- Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct, develop classroom behavior rules, and maintain order fairly and justly. Plan and supervise assignments for aides and volunteers, and evaluate their performance.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other pertinent information.
- Encourage, model, and enforce socially acceptable behavior.
- Integrate multimedia technology into teaching/learning processes.
- Maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Work cooperatively with staff and supervisors to achieve school and district goals.
- Involve parents in their child's education practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
187 Days. Salary will be based on experience and in accordance with district policies and pay scale.
Evaluation:Performance will be evaluated semi-annually as per district policies.
