About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Event Planning Assistant to provide crucial support to their event management team in Mossel Bay . This part-time role is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring event professional to gain hands-on experience across a variety of catering and event functions. You will assist with administrative tasks, client communications, vendor coordination, and on-site support, ensuring that every event runs smoothly and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses strong organizational skills, and has a passion for the events industry. You will work closely with senior planners, contributing to the creation of memorable experiences for our client's diverse clientele.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of various catering and social events from inception to completion.
- Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining event documentation.
- Support client communication, responding to inquiries and relaying information between clients and the event team.
- Help coordinate with vendors, confirming bookings, and ensuring timely delivery of services and supplies.
- Provide on-site assistance during events, supporting setup, guest management, and breakdown.
- Conduct research for venues, caterers, and other event-related services as needed.
- Previous experience in an administrative or support role, preferably within the hospitality or event industry.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work part-time hours, including some evenings and weekends as required by events.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
