About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and contracts for various construction projects in the Mossel Bay area. This role demands a meticulous approach to financial management, from initial cost estimation to final account settlement. You will play a vital role in ensuring that projects remain financially viable, advising on procurement strategies, and managing contractual obligations effectively.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of construction economics, and the ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors, contributing significantly to project profitability and client satisfaction.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies for new construction projects.
• Manage tendering processes, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids.
• Administer construction contracts, including variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, reporting on variances.
• Negotiate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
• Provide advice on procurement strategies and contract administration.

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
• Professional registration with a recognized body (e.g., SACQSP, RICS).
• Minimum of 7 years of post-graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong understanding of building contracts and construction law.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
