About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Turbine Maintenance Technician to join their operations team in Mossel Bay . This role is essential for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of power generation turbines, playing a vital part in the region's energy supply. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on complex machinery, ensuring all work adheres to the highest safety and quality standards.

This hands-on position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to operational excellence in a demanding industrial environment, contributing to the stability and sustainability of our energy infrastructure.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic testing on power generation turbines.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with turbine systems.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repair and maintenance activities.
• Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance performed, including parts used, labor hours, and any encountered issues.
• Ensure adherence to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements during all maintenance operations.
• Operate specialized tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
• Respond to emergency calls for turbine system failures or performance degradation.

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial turbines (e.g., gas, steam, wind).
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.
• Proficiency in using various hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
• Commitment to safety protocols and ability to work effectively in challenging industrial settings.
• Physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift heavy components as required.
