About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and insightful Solar Energy Analyst to join their team in Mossel Bay . This role is integral to evaluating the technical and economic viability of solar energy projects, from small-scale installations to utility-grade developments. You will be responsible for data analysis, performance modeling, and financial assessment, providing crucial insights to guide investment decisions and project execution.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of renewable energy in the Western Cape and play a part in shaping a sustainable energy future.
- Conduct detailed technical and financial analysis for prospective solar energy projects , including site assessments and resource evaluations.
- Develop and utilize performance simulation models to forecast energy production and system output.
- Analyze market trends, policy changes, and regulatory frameworks impacting the solar industry.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing project findings, risks, and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering and project development teams to optimize project design and economics.
- Monitor the performance of operational solar assets, identifying areas for improvement and troubleshooting issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental), Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, financial modeling, or project evaluation within the renewable energy sector , preferably solar.
- Proficiency in solar performance simulation software (e.g., PVSyst, SAM) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python).
- Strong understanding of solar PV technologies, system components, and project development lifecycle.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and financial information clearly and concisely.
