Senior Production Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a prominent entity in the Oil & Gas industry , is seeking a proactive Senior Production Engineer to join their operational team in Mossel Bay . This role focuses on optimizing the performance of producing fields, ensuring efficient and safe extraction of hydrocarbons. You will analyze production data, identify operational issues, and implement solutions to maximize recovery and minimize downtime.

This is an on-site position that requires a strong understanding of production facilities, artificial lift systems, and reservoir management principles. You will play a key role in driving operational efficiency and contributing to the company's overall production targets within a well-established operational hub.

• Monitor and analyze production performance from wells and facilities, identifying areas for optimization.
• Develop and implement strategies for artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps) to enhance production rates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production-related operational problems, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to understand reservoir behavior and its impact on production strategies.
• Manage workovers, well interventions, and facility maintenance activities to ensure asset integrity and productivity.
• Prepare production forecasts, operational reports, and cost analyses.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in production engineering within the Oil & Gas sector .
• Strong knowledge of production operations, surface facilities, and artificial lift technologies.
• Experience with production optimization techniques and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a field operations environment.
Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
