About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable Water Resources Engineer to contribute to vital projects in Mossel Bay , Western Cape . This role focuses on the management, planning, and design of water-related infrastructure, including supply systems, wastewater treatment, and coastal zone management. You will be instrumental in ensuring sustainable water use and protecting the region's valuable coastal environment. Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies for water resource management, including supply, distribution, and conservation plans.
- Design and oversee the construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
- Conduct hydrological studies, flood risk assessments, and coastal erosion analyses.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, water quality standards, and coastal zone management policies.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists, urban planners, and government agencies on water-related projects.
- Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and operational guidelines for water systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in water resource management and infrastructure design.
- Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET).
- Strong understanding of water treatment processes, environmental regulations, and coastal engineering principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
